Degree Works is easy to access through MySlice. Locate the Degree Works link found in the Student Services/Advising section to view your personal audit worksheet. In order to be awarded a graduate degree by the University, you must File a Diploma Request via MySlice. You need to verify your name as it should appear on your diploma, your diploma mailing address, and the date you expect to graduate. There are four available graduation dates for master’s students: Spring (May), Summer (June or August), and Fall (December). This date is not a reflection of the graduation ceremony, but rather the date by which you will complete all degree requirements. Your diploma is mailed approximately six weeks after your master’s degree is certified.

You are welcome and encouraged to attend the University Commencement ceremonies held in May. Students completing their programs in May, June, and August are eligible to participate, as well as students who finished their programs the previous December. You must File your Diploma Request by the appropriate deadline. Convocation for the Newhouse School will occur on Saturday, May 9, 2020, and the University’s Commencement will be Sunday, May 10, 2020.

You will also have the opportunity to nominate and then later vote for a Newhouse convocation graduate speaker. The process will be outlined via email during the month of March.
