- Secondly, by passing COM 101, a 0-credit remedial grammar course which will be mandatory for students who fail the grammar competency exam. This course can be repeated until a passing grade is earned and the competency is met.
- PHI 293 is an Arts and Sciences class and may be taken in any semester.
- The Global Experience may be fulfilled by studying abroad or taking an approved class from the list in the Newhouse Guidebook. If a student selects a Newhouse class and has already taken their 42 Newhouse credits, those credit hours will be added to the 122 hours required to graduate.

Notes
- Students may devote no more than 42 of the 122 total credits to Newhouse School courses. Any courses taken above the 42-credit hour limit will be added to the total hours required for graduation.
- BAN 201 grants .5 credits per semester for six semesters, and includes a recitation section. Students who do not study off-campus (abroad, LA, NYC) during their junior and senior years will be eligible to take BAN 202, a 0-credit version to prevent exceeding Newhouse credit limits.
- Bandier students must complete three internships over the course of their degree, as well as earn 3 credits for BAN 403. Bandier students are limited to three internship credits in communications within their 122 credits to graduate. Each internship: may vary from one to three credits; requires sophomore standing or higher; and must be individually petitioned. Students who have met their credit requirement, but not their total internship requirement, may petition to use an off-campus, non-credit work experience to satisfy their total internship requirement, up to two internships. Petitions available in the Bandier Program Office. Singly-enrolled Newhouse students are not permitted to enroll in non-communications experience credit.
- Students must complete a grammar competency as part of their degree requirements. There will be two ways students can satisfy this competency:
- First, by passing a grammar competency exam during their first semester on campus. The exam will be given twice – once before the end of the first week of classes and a second time prior to registration the next semester. A passing grade on the exam will fulfill the competency requirement.
- Secondly, by passing COM 101, a 0-credit remedial grammar course which will be mandatory for students who fail the grammar competency exam. This course can be repeated until a passing grade is earned and the competency is met.
- PHI 293 is an Arts and Sciences class and may be taken in any semester.
- The Global Experience may be fulfilled by studying abroad or taking an approved class from the list in the Newhouse Guidebook. If a student selects a Newhouse class and has already taken their 42 Newhouse credits, those credit hours will be added to the 122 hours required to graduate.
- Bandier students have the opportunity to study abroad internationally for one semester of junior year or senior year. While students may study at any of the SU centers or world partners, London offers courses which may be used in the major or the Bandier professional specialization.
- Bandier students have the opportunity to study and intern in Los Angeles (Newhouse LA) in the fall semester of junior or fall semester of senior year. Only one semester of participation in Newhouse LA Program is permitted.
- Students may not study off-campus for more than two semesters.
